4 My Holiday Fair FAQs
Before you schedule your My Holiday Fair this year, let us answer a few common questions about who we are and how we can help you.
My Holiday Fair is a well-organized and easy-to-set-up holiday shop that is sent to your school, enabling your students to buy gifts for their loved ones. We offer quality items, sign-up bonuses, and free promotional materials with no fees and no shipping charges.
Here are 4 frequently asked questions about My Holiday Fair that will help you better understand exactly what we do:
Q: I want to host a Holiday Store this year. What’s my first step?
A: Great! Check out our website and you can reserve your store date and boxes today by completing our online form
Q: Can we use My Holiday Fair as a fundraiser?
A: Many schools sell the gifts at cost to their students, but you can also hold a My Holiday Fair as a fundraiser by adding a percentage to the prices. An average markup is anywhere between 10% and 50%, but most schools keep the prices low and more affordable for students—the choice is yours!
We will send you a “Helpful Hints Manual” with great ideas on how to run My Holiday Fair. The last page of the manual has samples of item pricing to suggest how to price the merchandise for a fundraiser.
Q: Can I run the sale by myself?
A: Not really. To run a successful and stress-free sale, you may want a few volunteers to help you. One trusted member of your organization can help as a cashier, and other volunteers should be available to help your students shop.
Support volunteers can also assist in crowd control and bagging purchases. Let your MHF representative know if you need ideas on recruiting and organizing volunteers.
Q: What kind of promotional materials will I receive?
A: My Holiday Fair provides several types of marketing materials that are completely free to you, including:
- Budget Envelopes included for each student. You can send these home with your students before the sale, and parents can put money in the envelops for safety and to help budget/direct where children spend their money.
- Parent letters for each student are printed on quality copy paper and supplied for you. You can also type your own informational letter to inform parents of sale dates, times, location, etc. You can even print your letter on the back side of the supplied parent letter if you choose.
- Additionally, one door cover, eight table covers, and six posters are also provided at no charge to help you advertise the event.
We will send the promotional items to you via UPS around November 1 so that you can distribute them to your students and start advertising your sale, weeks before the actual sale starts.
